A psychedelic-funk space-jam.

Originally called "Funk From Beyond Our Time", I did this wild analog psychedelic Bass Guitar jam in Summer of 1986 (yep, it's 33 Years Old!). And, it SAT for a whole Generation-And-A-Half (mainly because I had the damndest time cleaning up all the 'hiss').

Well, on Sunday, July 8, 2007 at 11:39 AM)--some 21 Years Later--I finally took the digital filter to this track (literally erasing the hiss sound between Drum-Beats!!), and amped up the remaining sound.

Now, mind you, there is STILL some 'Hiss', but you've got to remember, the original was done using ONLY a Bass Guitar plugged into an Echo-Plex Box!!!

Yep, I said an "Echo-Plex Box"-- and I STILL HAVE IT, too!!

To create the 'Space-Sounds' in the later part of the song, I pulled a 'Jimmy Page' on my Bass: I took a shiny silver aluminum pipe and rubbed it up and down the Bass strings, tapping them on occasion to simulate 'plucking'---

ALL WHILE PLUGGED INTO THAT ECHO-PLEX BOX!!!
(Take THAT, PINK FLOYD!!!)

The Casio Drums and Keyboard was dubbed in on the right channel (in the original mix, I panned the main track so that it would dominate all of the left channel, and 'shadow-in' the right channel---the cleaner mix KEEPS that format).

I also decided to leave it instrumental. So, what we have was something that was stranger than even "(The Epic Of) The She-Cat Of Silver Spring, MD.", which was recorded only a couple months earlier, and is found on the 1986 Album "The Shackle-Brains" (An Album) (SG-263684) .

And so, "Funk From Beyond Our Time" just sat patiently for 21 years until it was uploaded to Soundclick, where it was no big deal. NOW, after an amazing 37 Years, it makes it's OFFICIAL RELEASE in 2023.

As for the COVER ART:

This is the SAME Front Cover Art for the Main Album, but with an added Border Frame containing the Album Title and Band Name. I was intending to leave it as such, but thought the Main Album Cover would be BETTER to leave it straight without the title and artist--like a true psychedelic space-rock Album Cover.

The ARTIST is yerstrooly--ME. I originally did it way back in 1986 for a home-made 'Greatest Hits' Cassette-Album called "The S-uper H-igh I-ntensity T-reatment" (slick, huh?!), which eventually became the Lawrence Wise Greatest Hits Compilation, "Them Early Thangs--The Best Of The First Era (1982-1984)" in 2019.

The original work was done on Notebook Paper in Pencil, Pen/Ink and Color Marker, and later re-scanned to a much larger size, after which I upgraded the color and image with Microsoft BitMap and Photoshop in 2017.

I intended to use it for another unmade project called "Archives" (even "Worded" the original artwork for it--but since cleaned it right back up). So now, here we go--in all it's "Apple/iTunes-APPROVED, Google Search Engine-WORTHINESS.

N-Joy.
