Horror Rap (Single)

about

Interesting story about this song. It began 34 prior (in 1985 [!!!]) when this track was part of the original Cassette-Album configuration for Lawrence Wise And The Cosmic Funk Orchestra's "Edge Of A Dream". It was supposed to close out the album (right after the 20+ minute "Cosmic Dreams"). Looking back, it didn't seem to fit--even though the matching "Castle Sinn (Electric Torture)" did (on Side-One of the original album).

I wound up dropping it from the CD Transfer Master in 2002--mainly because of lack of CD space (thanks mainly to "Cosmic Dreams"), only to upload it to SoundClick under the "OSMOSIS"-banner in 2008 as a single track.

So, technically, "Horror Rap" was an "orphaned" track. I even made a Cassette-Single edit of it in '85 (with--believe it or not!!--a raw, original version of "Lesbian Tendencies"...later re-recorded in 1990). THIS Single edit follows the original one, but is a bit longer because I decided to leave the middle keyboard-break in...and it flows better because of it.

AND, after sitting for 33 Years (at the time---2018), "Horror Rap" makes it's official debut as part of the OSMOSIS Album, "MR. LOU C. FER"...effectively closing that album out.

NOW--ABOUT THE SONG ITSELF:

It's exactly what it says in the title.

A pair of crazy Zombies ("Fred, from the Living Dead" and "Cool, the Half-Dead Fool") are dropping horror-based rhymes, talking some serious trash. Near the end of the album version (after a wild 'scat'-breakdown), the rapping is thrown out the window, as we get a 'comedy-skit' with our MC's feasting on some poor sucker who just happened to come by...even feeding ONE PART OF HIM To Their (Zombie) DOG!! (Don't even ask!!).

Originally a "Lawrence Wise And The Cosmic Funk Orchestra" track, it sounded "OSMOSIS", before I started calling myself that name in 1989.
