THIS IS THE LIVE (in the basement!) ORIGINAL, from September 1985!! (LIVE Tracks from Cosmic Funk/OSMOSIS are RARE!!)

"ALLADIN'S FUNK" was 'composed' at the very same time as this recording. It was a Saturday afternoon, in early September 1985, downstairs in my Basement Front Room.

That's ME (Lawrence Wise) on the Casio Synth and the insane Vocals, my brother PATRICK WISE (of TOTAL GROOVE CONNECTION band And Show) on the Drums, and our friends (and fellow TGC band members) THURMANN JOHNSON on Congas and TERRY CHISLEY on the Roto-toms (and closing vocals).

Nothing elaborate; Only ONE Mic--for my vocals. All the drums and percussion were done 'air-check'. Hey, that room was only about 14-ft. x 12-ft.! OH YEA: recorded directly into a BOOM-BOX!!!

Of course, over 5 years later, "Alladin's Groove" was re-done by Lawrence Wise And The Cosmic Funk Orchestra, studio style, and using more or less the very same arrangements--but NO Vocals! (That's the version on "SSFM* [A Delicious Collection Of Instrumental Porno-Funk!]" [SG-375662].)

As for the IDEA to the song:
"ALLADIN" from Disney is NOT the basis.
This is the original 'Arabian Knights' version (with a very mean Djinn!).

Finally, the VOICE at the end: That was Terry Chisley.

We still had the tape running to get all the feedback on the recording, and idiot boy said, "Go The Fuck Home!!". So, we 'CRASHED' a final beat, and called it a song!

If I was to EVER perform LIVE (instead of just this little 'rehearsal'), and had a 'like-minded band' back-in-the-day, I think 'The Cosmic Funk Orchestra' would've sounded just like that.

WOW; September 1985. I just turned 22 only a couple weeks earlier, and....well!
